SENATOR GEORGE SEKIBO URGES YOUTHS TO BE CREATIVE.

The senator representing the good people of Rivers east Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Distinguished senator George Thompson Sekibo has urged youths of Rivers East senatorial district to be creative and productive.

He said that it takes creativity to become successful and prominent in life.

Speaking during Day 1 of the Modern ICT training and General skill acquisition for Rivers east Senatorial district , Sponsored by the senator in Collaboration with Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development through the National Center of Agriculture Mechanization (NCAM) Ilorin, the senator advised youths to make profitable use of the social media.

He urged them to properly make use of the opportunity given them in order to make a good living for themselves, families and the society at large. He frowned at the rate at which young people who have skills had abandoned them to venture into insignificant things.

The senate committee chairman on navy frowned at the rate the social media is used to circulate false information and advised youths to use the social media positively.

The workshop which featured ICT training on the effective and profitable use of social media for social media users and other skills like Hat making, beads making, cosmetology etc had over hundred participants drawn from the eight local government areas that makes up the senatorial zone which includes : Portharcourt City, Obio/Akpor, Emohua, Ikwerre, Ogu-Bolo, Okirika, Omuma and Etche Local Government Areas.

Electronic gadgets where gifted to the participants at the ICT section at the end of their one day training to enhance their social media usage, while startup packs would be given to participants in the other different skill acquisition sections at the end of their own program which is expected to last for four days.

The participants in their different remarks commended senator George Thompson Sekibo for the opportunity given to them to enhance their knowledge of ICT and several other skills which will improve their livelihood.
